Calling all 10 – 12th graders! Join JCRC’s Israel Engagement Fellowship
Do you know a teen who would benefit from exploring their relationship with Israel in a meaningful way? As a member of the IEF program, your student will learn from peers and mentors working on college campuses and beyond. Topics include having constructive conversations about Israel, discovering the many facets of Israeli history, society, achievements, and challenges. Participants learn the importance of building allies and coalitions to impact change and gain dialogue skills. The fellows graduate with the knowledge, experience, and confidence to articulate their connection to Israel. David Heilbron (Director of Youth Philanthropy & Connection, JFGI) will lead this year’s fellowship in partnership with the Jewish Federation of Greater Indianapolis.
Join Student to Student to Reduce anti-Jewish Prejudice
Antisemitism often results from a lack of knowledge and familiarity. The Student to Student program fosters understanding and counters anti-Jewish stereotypes. The Indy JCRC trains local Jewish teens to give joint presentations about what it’s like to be Jewish in high school classrooms that may have very little, if any, Jewish presence. Student to Student offers an indispensable opportunity to have non-Jewish students learn about teens different from themselves by listening and asking peers their own age questions. As a result, non-Jewish teens can put a “human face” to Judaism – the best antidote to bigotry and intolerance.
