Director of Education and Antisemitism Prevention

The Indianapolis Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC) seeks a full-time Director of Education & Antisemitism Prevention to lead the community’s efforts to address antisemitism in educational settings across Indiana. This role is responsible for building strong, proactive relationships with K–12 schools and higher education institutions, supporting students and families, and helping schools develop the knowledge and capacity to respond effectively to antisemitism. The position reports directly to the JCRC’s Executive Director.

This position reflects a strategic shift from reactive incident response to sustained, relationship- based engagement with educators, administrators, and educational institutions. The Director will serve as a trusted resource to educators, administrators, students, and families, working to ensure that Jewish students feel supported and that institutions are prepared to meet the moment with clarity and care.satisfaction of our clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary liaison between the Jewish community and educational institutions across Indiana, with a primary focus on K–12 schools
• Staff, support, and lead JCRC’s Parent Support Initiative which includes our School Leaders Engagement Network and our K-12 incident reporting system
• Build and maintain relationships with superintendents, principals, school boards, college administrators, faculty, and student affairs professionals
• Support students and families navigating incidents or concerns related to antisemitism, including guidance and facilitation of communication with schools
• Ensure timely, thoughtful, and constructive responses to concerns raised by community members
• Develop and deliver training for educators and administrators on Jewish identity, antisemitism, and anti-Jewish bias
• Provide consultation to schools and campuses on curriculum, diversity and inclusion frameworks, and policies impacting Jewish students
• Monitor and track trends and design and implement data collection strategies related to antisemitism in educational environments
• Connect local institutions with national resources, best practices, and partner organizations
• Support JCRC’s government affairs efforts as it relates to education policy, including meeting with state and local elected leaders and legislators, as well as their staff

Goals and Objectives

• Establish strong, ongoing relationships with K–12 schools and higher education institutions across Indiana
• Increase proactive engagement from schools and campuses seeking guidance before issues escalate
• Ensure students and families feel supported, heard, and confident in navigating school- related concerns
• Improve timeliness and effectiveness of responses to antisemitism-related incidents
• Increase educator and administrator understanding of antisemitism and confidence in addressing it
• Strengthen communication pathways among families, schools, and the JCRC
• Support earlier intervention in emerging issues to prevent escalation
• Contribute to more responsive and informed institutional practices, including policy and curriculum considerations
• Enhance inclusion of Jewish perspectives within educational settings

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will bring experience in education, community relations, nonprofit leadership, or a related field. A strong understanding of antisemitism, Jewish identity, and the dynamics of K–12 and higher education environments is important.

Candidates should demonstrate strong relationship-building skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including educators, administrators, parents, students, and community leaders. Excellent communication skills — both written and verbal — are essential, along with the ability to navigate sensitive situations with professionalism and sound judgment.

The role requires a proactive, thoughtful approach, with the ability to balance immediate response needs with long-term strategic goals.

Compensation and Benefits

This is a full-time position with a starting salary range of $65,000–$75,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
