For your information we are sharing the following information from the Jewish Federation of Greater Indianapolis:
The Jewish Federation and our partner agencies and organizations are committed to the health and safety of our members, guests, and staff.
We have all been following developments throughout the country and around the world concerning the Coronavirus, or COVID-19. We recognize this is a dynamic situation. In an effort to keep our community safe and well informed of the ongoing concerns regarding the Coronavirus we want to share various resources from the Jewish Federations of North America website, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website, and the World Health Organization website. These organizations have communicated that all citizens, businesses, and schools prepare for possible disruption due to the potential spread of the virus.
Actions taken on the Jewish Community Campus
Housekeeping staff continue to work diligently in maintaining a clean environment in all areas throughout our campus with increased focus on frequently touched surfaces including door handles and countertops. Foreseeing a potential inventory shortage, we have placed additional orders for cleaning supplies. In addition:
- We have reviewed our daily cleaning and sanitation protocols for areas throughout the campus.
- We posted proper handwashing information in restrooms, locker rooms, and breakrooms.
- We are providing Lysol wipes/sprays to our professionals for cleaning personal work areas. Cleaning wipes are also available near copiers and other communally shared equipment.
- We will shortly be placing notices of precautionary actions that can be taken on our website and at all major entrances throughout the campus.
What you can do:
- Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds and dry them thoroughly, especially after using the restroom and before eating.
- Cover your nose and mouth by sneezing or coughing into the bend of your elbow or with a tissue.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
- Avoid common greetings such as handshakes, hugs and greetings with a kiss.
- If you are not feeling well, arrange with your supervisor to utilize your sick days or work from home and stay home except to get medical care.
Although risk to Indiana residents is currently low, we will continue to monitor ongoing developments, maintain communications with state and local health authorities, and continue to provide you with updates as appropriate.
