Diversity, Equity, Inclusion: Including the Jewish Community

About this Event

Join the Indianapolis Jewish Community Relations Council staff as we explore being Jewish in the workplace and the steps to building an inclusive environment.

Learning Objectives:

  • Jewish Stereotypes and Antisemitism in the Workplace
  • Proactive Steps to Creating an Inclusive Environment for Jews

NOTE: This event is a virtual meeting. Please register to join us and the Zoom link and meeting ID information will be sent to you directly.

Schedule:

Guests will enter the online meeting between 8 – 8:15 a.m. Guests will be able to connect with one another via the chat function to catch-up with other guests they know and introduce themselves to attendees that they don’t know.
Promptly at 8:15 a.m., they will begin introductions and announcements, with the presentation beginning shortly thereafter. The presentation will be approximately 60 minutes in length.

Speaker Biographies

Aaron Welcher is the Program & Communications Coordinator at the JCRC, he is responsible for developing programs, amplifying the Jewish community’s voices through communications, and being a resource for the press by engaging in media relations. He helps to form diverse coalitions and build meaningful relationships by engaging in multi-faith and intergroup affairs. Aaron, who is Jewish & LGBTQ+, believes the Jewish community’s inherent intersectionality is a strength. He has a passion for many causes, including ending systemic issues like antisemitism & racism, addressing the eviction and housing crisis, and justice for people who are immigrants and refugees

Marla Topiol is the Israel & Antisemitism Education Coordinator at the JCRC. Marla is responsible for facilitating the JCRC’s Stand Up! Speak Out! programming to proactively combat antisemitism and educate about Israel. She also serves as an educational resource and sounding board for educators, organizations, and families. Marla’s background is in museum education, teaching, Jewish history and identity and non-profit work.
