Indianapolis JCRC and ADL Midwest Response to April 3 Bloomington City Council Ceasefire Resolution and Antisemitic Rhetoric During Public Comment

The Indianapolis Jewish Community Relations Council and ADL Midwest are disappointed by the decision of the Bloomington city council to pass a ceasefire resolution during last night’s meeting. Moreso, we are shocked by the white supremacist, antisemitic, and anti-Israel rhetoric used by many speakers. The divisiveness that the council brought to the city is saddening and we urge the mayor to veto the resolution. The Bloomington city council must take steps to heal the community after giving platform to such hate. We will continue to be in touch with Bloomington Jewish community leaders to ensure the city is welcoming to the Jewish community.
