What We're Up To 2018 Legislative Session of the Indiana General Assembly:  Unfortunately, we are saddened to report that JCRC's efforts to pass bias crimes legislation at the Indiana General Assembly have been unsuccessful.  Opposition to draft language and inclusion of coverage for the LGBT community continues to be a sticking point.  We will be reevaluating strategy regarding this legislation prior to any future legislative sessions.  JCRC will continue to be active at the

What We're Up To 2018 Legislative Session of the Indiana General Assembly: The JCRC's Assistant Director, David Sklar, continues to help lead the statewide effort to pass a Hate Crimes law in Indiana, running point on the bill in the halls of the Indiana State House.  Unfortunately, the bill continues to meet resistance from a small, but vocal, group opposed to the inclusion of "gender identity" in Indiana code.  Grassroots advocacy is in full swing,
